So, just how do these industrial high pressure relief valves operate? Essentially, they are most often in a closed position, but will start to open once a certain level of pressurization has been reached. A spring is usually used which presses down on the diaphragm or shaft. You can usually set the desired level of pressure yourself by manually turning the adjustment bolt in a clockwise direction to raise it and a counterclockwise motion to lower it.
When the inlets pressure reaches this level, liquid will begin to enter into the valve. If you are using a high pressure gas system, then gas will be released into the atmosphere. The valve will open further if the pressure within the system continues to rise which allows more liquid to escape.

They can be used in various parts of your liquid storage system, whatever it may be, in order to provide numerous system control benefits. Interestingly enough, they go by different names depending on where they are installed on this system. Although there are others types of valves available, it is recommend that you stick with industrial high pressure relief valves because they are so versatile and popular. They also feature a nice, small size so setting, making adjustments, and installing is easy.
