Vaikunta Ekadashi, also known as Mukkoti Ekadashi, is a significant festivity in South India. The day happens in the month of Dhanurmasam (December-January) as the Sun runs in the Dhanu Rashi. Temples like Tirupati Balaji, Srirangam Sri Ranganatha, Bhadrachalam, which are at different places in South India, celebrate the Ekadashi on a grand level.

It is very much believed that on this day, Lord Vishnu opens up the gates of heaven. Devotees who worship Lord Vishnu and pass through the abode gate made in temples seek Moksha after this lifetime. They become free from the cycle of life and death and reside in the Vishnu abode as a result of their good karmas.

Different temples in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana open this special gate only on Vaikunta Ekadasi. The queue of devotees encircles the altar of Lord Vishnu while passing through the gate.

Observing fast on the Day

Devotees who keep fast on this day attain the benefits of all Ekadashis that fall in Krishna and Shukla Paksha. However, the Vrats are observed like any other Ekadashi during which people can consume one meal only. Those who observe fasting more strictly avoid having any food items. Also, one must not pluck Tulsi leaves on this day; if needed, it should be done a day before.

It is prohibited to consume rice on any Ekadashi since it is believed as the home of the demon on Ekadashi. People also stay awake all night, and they indulge in Bhajana and Kirtan or chant the Mahamantra of Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu.

One should not sleep during the daytime, and if possible, watch the all-night reading stories related to Lord Vishnu. The Vrat should be broken the next day, on Dwadasi after performing the Puja, and donating food to the poor.

Mythological Connection Behind Vaikunta Ekadasi

As the Padma Purana indicates, Ekadashi is the female energy of Lord Vishnu that once saved Lord Vishnu from the irrational and murderous act of the demon Muran. This happened during the month of Margazhi when the Sun was in Sagittarius or DhanuRashi.

The legend states that Muran, a demon, was spreading his domination in heaven and among the Gods-like. Unable to bear his oppression, all Devas approached Lord Shiva, who then directed them to Lord Vishnu. Vishnu attended the Gods-like and decided to terminate the demon forever.

The war went on between Lord Vishnu and the demon Muran. However, it was getting challenging to triumph over the demon. Lord Vishnu then took a break from the war and went to a cave to prepare an upgraded and mighty weapon. One night when Lord Vishnu was slumbering, the demon exposed the gut to outbreak Lord Vishnu.

Right away, the female energy from within Lord Vishnu took her form and slain the demon into pieces on the ground. Lord Vishnu, when realized the life-saving act of her energy, he gave her the name “Ekadashi.” He also gave her the boon that whoever will worship her and go through the gate of abode will attain Moksha or the abode of Vishnu.

Since then, to seek salvation from the materialistic world, devotees worship Lord Vishnu on this very day. Plus, they stay awake the whole night, read the mythological stories about Vishnu, and observe fast with utmost devotion. Observing fast on this single day has the power to offer the devotees the effects of all the Ekadashis together.

Fasting cleanses our minds as we become able to fight our shallow thoughts and ill-words that we use for others. Even it is just for a day, by fasting, we remind ourselves that we don’t have to bring negative thoughts. Here our Rajasic and Tamasic qualities are a depiction of the demon Muran that we need to defeat with the light of positivity and the vibe of devotion we receive while fasting on Vaikunta Ekadasi.

Let the feeling of lust, arroganceComputer Technology Articles, and anger diminish this Ekadashi. Observe the fast on VaikuntaEkadasi and receive the blessings of Lord Vishnu in your life. Let your mind be in the service of Vishnu!

Ten profound life lessons to learn from buddhism

Buddhism was founded by an Indian religious, spiritual preacher and philosopher Siddhartha Gautam (Lord Buddha) between 5th & 6th Centuries B.C. The teachings of Lord Buddha were elementary and based on moral values, simple truths and regular meditation practices, to enlighten and impart knowledge to its followers. Presently, it is the world’s fourth-largest religion, with about 520 million followers. Buddhism pro-founded ten basis lessons so that their follower’s miseries are minimised, and happiness maximised during their journey in life.

Always Be Positive & Never Lose Hope

Buddhism emphasised on always being hopeful despite one’s being in tough times. It mentions that nothing is permanent in life i.e. be it happiness, sadness or even one’s identity. ‘Change’ is the law of nature, and all bad situations would pass off one day and bring happiness to life again. Everyone is doing his own karma according to his own will & hopes. Hence, one should always be optimistic about life.On the off chance,if you are facing negative thoughts daily, then meditate in front of a buddha statue for 20 minutes and keep your worries at bay.

Helping Other Generously

One other important doctrine of Buddhism was helping the needy to the maximum extent. It specifies that despite one’s problems, one should help others which shall make you feel happy. The power of giving has an immense impact. It not only reduces the misery of a person but generates true strength in oneself. Thus, one should always bring happiness to others’ lives so that their own life always remains happy. Compassion and Sharing with others are two key factors to one’s happiness.

Free Yourself From Attachments

Buddhism stipulates that one should be self-reliant and not rely on external factors for attaining happiness. It further establishes that one should go on doing his karma in life, without being dependent on others. All relations and assets in life are replenishable. One should not be attached to worldly gains and relations as they tend to deprive you of your freedom. Therefore, accept life with enthusiasm, and worship buddha idol daily to grow in life with happiness, without being attached emotionally. Death, Decay, losses are various aspects of life, and a wise person would not grieve as this is the law of nature. Whatever situations in life prevail, one should walk untouched and unattached.

Understanding Is the Key to Progress

Progress in one’s life comes through Understanding. One should understand various aspects of life and show compassion for one and all irrespective of the fact that there may be a difference in opinions/insight/views. Your karma, based on your understanding, shall fetch happiness in your life.

Changing Your Life Is Entirely in Your Hands

Your life is only yours, and you have to walk the path bravely, understandingly and with great wisdom to attain your goals in life. One has to conquer one’s own self to attain happiness in life. One cannot rely on others for making a path in their life. You have to conquer your mind & ego and move forward positively & humbly with fixed perspectives, great courage, calmness and patience. One should not forget that “There is no path to happiness – Rather Happiness is the path.

Trust Your Common Sense

In this fast changing world, where everything has been aesthetically commercialised and presented lucratively, one has to trust one’s own common sense. The skills acquired in life need to be practically established, and without relying on others, one should co-relate the same to its common sense to derive the desired happiness/result from the same.

Holding Onto Anger Isn’t Useful

Buddhism enfolds the power of patience and teaches us to keep ego and anger away from you to lead a joyful life. It propagates that anger does not lead you to anything positive or concrete – rather, it decreases your happiness, energy and peace. Any situation can be faced by avoiding anger and instead of practising tolerance and patience. Our great Scholars have rightly said that we shall not be punished for our anger, but shall be punished by our anger.

Do Not Stoop to Anyone’s Level

Buddhism taught people to practice patience and conquer hate with love and passion. People often tend to provoke you. But you need not come down to their levels and act accordingly. Instead, by practising patience, cool and wisdom, you may win over them; convert their hatred to love while keeping your integrity intact. For practising the principle taught in buddhism, buy buddha statue online and meditate daily.

To Be Beautiful Means to Be Yourself

Buddhism teaches that one can become a beautiful human being through self-compassion, being morally high, nourishing the body with the right food, always ready to help the needy etc. Such a person knows his targets to be achieved during his journey in life. He happily accepts whatever comes his way.

The Moment Is the Only Thing That Exists

Buddhism emphasizes the fact that the past is already over and the future is yet to come. So, the most important thing that matters is the present moment for a person to live in. HenceFree Articles, one should utilise every moment of his current life to work and enjoy so that the future automatically gets better.

We are living in an age of conflicts and tensions. Internal peace and happiness are really sought for by many people. A human needs to live in tranquility, real tranquility that is permanent and not drug-induced. But fear of unjust superior powers, failure, enemies and the endless chain of fears are the enemies of this tranquility.

In Islam, believing in Allah and His Most High Names is the root of our faith. The fruits of this faith are innumerable. We are limited here to the subject of internal peace. The cure of all psychological problems springs of our faith that Allah is AlRahman “The All-Merciful”. Whatever we are facing in our lives, we believe that Allah Al-Mighty is more kind to us than our own mothers. Can a mother throw her own baby into fire? Allah is more Merciful to us than our own mothers. Will He torture us if we are believers and faithful? Then let’s face our lives with internal peace as long as we believe that nobody and nothing can harm us.

The human nature means the soul and the body. A man without a spiritual life is no longer a man. Equally, whoever proclaims that spiritual training can delete the materialistic demands of that body is a devil in the clothes of a saint. Can he give up sleeping? Is he ready to destroy his body and to be a soul flying in the world of ideals?

The holy Quran says:

“O you mankind, a proof has already come to you from your Lord ; and We have sent down to you an evident light. So, as for the ones who believed in Allah and firmly adhered to Him, then He will soon cause them to enter into a mercy from Him, and Grace, and will guide them to Him on a straight path”

This Grace and mercy from Allah Al-Mighty is true for the believers in life and in the day after. The heaven is the endless grace and mercy. It is not only a spiritual heaven but the materialistic pleasures are innumerable there. Equally, in our life Islam does not forbid materialistic pleasures, but Islam is a unit of enjoying our lives and, more important, obeying our God and creator. ThusBusiness Management Articles, without Islam there can never be a balance and harmony between the soul and the body. Who do not believe in that can do a comparison between Islam and other doctrines and the result is undoubtable.

5 management lessons to learn from lord krishna

Management is now an integral part of one’s life, be it home or office. It helps in making the best utilisation of one’s resources, finances, outreach, planning and policies to get the desired results from the available potentials. Lord Krishna is a well-known philosopher, guide, friend and a leader, who had enlightened the world with his teachings.

During Mahabharata, he advised Arjun in a very skilful & practical way, and his teachings are compiled in Bhagavad Gita, which is still followed in the present days. His style, preaching’s and his farsightedness make him an exemplary icon & most extraordinary Management Guru, who was able to convert the circumstances in achieving the desired results. His theory of Bhakti and Good Karma is bestowed in Bhagavad Gita, which in itself embodies several management lessons for all to follow.

He thus emerged as the management guru who imparted wisdom, strength, confidence and discipline to Arjuna during the Mahabharata war. In the present times, Bhagavad Gita excerpts are being quoted in motivational sessions being organised in corporate & business houses. Five such important management lessons to be learnt from Lord Krishna are detailed here below :

It is a well-known fact that knowledge grows when it is shared with others. A good leader shall share his knowledge and experiences with others so that they are well applied and utilised to derive the maximum desired results. Lord Krishna shared his learnings with Arjun in the Mahabharata war of Pandavas with Kauravas, which installed confidence in him, thus defeating the mighty Kaurav Sena.

The key to success is to have defined goals and ways to achieve them. A Manager should, therefore identify a definite goal to be pursued and should follow the path laid to complete it. Likewise, Lord Krishna had three concrete goals for his life, i.e. 1) to work for the welfare of others, 2) Fight and destroy the evil and 3) to establish and strengthen good principles in society. He further laid down that one should not get distressed while following the goals. Hence, a good leader should pray regularly in front of the Lord Krishna idol and follow the principles laid down in attaining one’s goals.

To be successful in any venture/life, one should have a strategy which helps in giving an advantage over others and helping in achieving the set goals. Lord Krishna used strategies which solved every problem in life without many difficulties. He was very tactical in this skill and planned his actions in such a way that he always got success in life. Lord Krishna, very cleverly, asked Arjun and Duryodhana to choose between him (i.e. a Leader) and his army (i.e. his resources). Duryodhana chose his army, but in the absence of good leadership, lost the battle to Pandavas. Thus, his planned action helped Pandavas win the battle with their small army against Kauravas, who had a vast army. So to achieve the benefits of business & strategic planning, it’s recommended that every business person should keep a brass Krishna murti on their work desk and start their day by praying to the lord.

One of the unique qualities attributed towards one’s success is a discreet and effective communication skill. A good orator can influence others while interacting with them freely and effectively. Lord Krishna, through his effective oratory skills, guided and motivated Arjun and the Pandavas to serve the good and fight against the evil, without being affected by the results that lay underway, and made them stick to their path of goal and truth. At one time, while in the battlefield, Arjun got perturbed on seeing his relatives as his enemy, whom he shall have to kill to win this war. At this stage, Lord Krishna understood his mental status and very patiently guided him about the Good and the bad and motivated him to do his karma and win the battle. This rejuvenated Arjun and he not only fought the war but also got the victory in the same. Hence, the extraordinary managerial abilities of Krishna statue helped Pandavas win.

Lord Krishna’s life portrayed that one should always be down to earth and live a simple life, still doing the right and never be afraid of the outcome of one’s efforts. He, despite being a supreme power, led a simple life among the ordinary people. He gave a message that one should always be humble, truthful and simpleBusiness Management Articles, which shall lead him to the progress in life.

Five things children should learn from lord ganesha

Lord Ganesha is the God of Good luck, success and prosperity, and worshipped worldwide. Children enjoy the festivities being celebrated in honour of Lord Ganesha, who is considered to be full of intelligence and wisdom.

Lord Ganesha is the God of Good luck, success and prosperity, and worshipped worldwide. Children enjoy the festivities being celebrated in honour of Lord Ganesha, who is considered to be full of intelligence and wisdom.

There are many stories related to Lord Ganesha, which, besides teaching them the importance of worshipping, shall induce rich values and impart lessons that may prove valuable in their lives.

Such five things which need to be adopted from Lord Ganesha and taught to the children so that they achieve happiness, contentment and success in life are given here below :

Lord Ganesha had a lot of love, devotion and respect for his parents. According to Hindu Mythology, once Lord Shiva & Parvati decided to test both their sons – Ganesh and Kartik, for their intelligence. So they entrusted them with a task of roaming around the world three times, and the winner would be given a miracle fruit which would provide them with knowledge and immortality. As the race started, Kartik immediately set out on his peacock for winning the race ahead of Lord Ganesha.

But Lord Ganesha, instead of running around the world, reviewed his resources that he had a mouse as his vehicle and that he cannot win the race on it. He then used his intelligence and wisdom and started taking three rounds of his parents standing there. Lord Shiva asked him about the reason for the same.

Lord Ganesha replied that his parents are his complete world for him and that by roaming around his parents, he has roamed the world three times, faster than his brother Kartik, who was wasting energy in taking circle around the world. Such great was Lord Ganesh’s respect towards his parents.

Likewise every child should pray in front of the Lord Ganpati Statue & pay respect to their parents at all times.

Lord Ganesha, besides his intelligence and wisdom, was known for his sincerity and dutifulness. As embodied in old stories, Lord Ganesha was created by Parvati, in the absence of Lord Shiva, from her body dirt. Once, Parvati asked Lord Ganesha to guard the house’s entry door, while she went for a bath. Ganesha agreed to the same. In the meantime, Lord Shiva came back and tried to enter the house. But Lord Ganesha, as per orders of Parvati, did not allow Lord Shiva to enter. Lord Shiva, unaware that Ganesha was his son, got annoyed and to punish Ganesha for the same, beheaded him and entered the house. Parvati got grief-stricken on hearing the death of his son.

Lord Shiva realised that a mistake was committed, and a dutiful person was punished. On the persistence of Parvati and to reward Lord Ganesha for his dutifulness, Lord Shiva rewarded Ganesha by replacing his head with the first living thing he saw, i.e. an Elephant. Hence, one should be dutiful towards parents for which God shall always reward them.

One of the main features of Lord Ganesha was that he always remained humble. Though he had a huge physique, he chooses a mouse as his vehicle, symbolising his humbleness towards a tiny creature. Hence, being humble to those smaller than us in quality needs to be learned from Lord Ganesha. Even today, Lord Ganesha humbly removes all obstacles and problems of his devotees. You just need to pray in front of ganpati murti daily to experience his blessings.

Lord Ganesha had big ears. As he was always in search of knowledge, he listened very patiently to others. It was only due to the good listening powers that he succeeded in attaining great intelligence and wisdom. It symbolises that one should be a very patient listener to gain wisdom and knowledge. A great listener can analyse the situation perfectly and find an effective solution for the same.

Lord Ganesha was a warrior as far as completion of work was concerned. He is also called Viganhartha. As per the old story, once Saint Vyasa was telling the tale of Mahabharata to Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha was penning the same. But while writing, his pen broke suddenly, but Saint Vyasa kept on dictating the Mahabharata Story. Lord Ganesha was swift to find a solution. In fact, he utilised his tusk as a pen to write the entire Mahabharata.

Resultantly, though his tusk broke from one side, he could write down the complete Mahabharata story. Thus, one should learn never to give up and makeup with the resources available with us at the need of the hour. The same rule applies for children. They should keep the ganpati idol on their desk while studying. It would motivate them to complete their difficult task innovatively.

Besides above, Lord Ganesh taught us to accept our imperfections; make the best use of what we have, use our knowledge and power wisely; to be kind to everyone, and maintain a balance in life. Children should adopt these valuable lessons to lead a happyFree Reprint Articles, wealthy and contented life.

Is it possible to go for umrah alone ie without a male mahram

For any Muslim, Male or Female, Umrah isn’t a religious obligation but a sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW). In other words, if a person having the financial, physical, and mental capability for Umrah

For any Muslim, Male or Female, Umrah isn’t a religious obligation but a sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW). In other words, if a person having the financial, physical, and mental capability for Umrah

For any Muslim, Male or Female, Umrah isn’t a religious obligation but a sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW). In other words, if a person having the financial, physical, and mental capability for Umrah still doesn’t perform it, there’s no sin for him/her i.e. it’s not a Fardh. However, since it’s the sunnah of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) it’s advised to never miss out on such an opportunity to perform umrah.

As the rituals of umrah also resemble Hajj’s rituals, its often called as the ‘minor pilgrimage’ and have great worldly and afterlife rewards for pilgrims. That’s why, Muslims from all around the world travel throughout the year for the performance of the holy rituals of Umrah in Makkah, Saudia Arabia.

The necessity of a Mahram.

When it comes to the umrah performance, Men can travel alone for it i.e. they don’t need a mahram accompanying them. However, for women, the necessity of a mahram remains.

Who is a Mahram?

In the Islamic perspective, Mahram for a woman is its legal escort when traveling and with whom marriage is Haram i.e. unmarriable kin. However, her husband is an exception. There are 3 types of Mahram;

For a woman, Mahram by blood is her Grandfather (and further ancestors), Father, Brother, Nephew (sibling’s son and further descendants), Son, Grandson (and further descendants), Uncle (paternal or maternal and further ancestors).

For a woman, Mahram by Marriage is her Husband, Son-in-law, Stepfather (mother’s husband), Father-in-law, Stepson (husband’s son).

For a woman, Mahram by fosterage is a child who she has breastfed for a period of 30 months (2.5 years).

Mahram for Women.

1.   Saudi Rules for umrah in 2019 and before.

In 2019 and before, accompanying a mahram for a woman was a necessity for umrah performance. The mahram must have to be a male relative of at least 18 years old. Otherwise, the woman was not allowed to enter the kingdom. This rule applied to the women who were 45 years of age or younger.

For women who were over 45 years, it was permissible to travel alone but in the organized groups. Yet, they still had to obtain a notarized NOC i.e. No Objection Certificate from their Mahram.

2.   Saudi Rules for Umrah in late 2019.

In late 2019, the new Saudi Government announced its ‘Saudi Vision 2030’ plan. Under which amendments were made to boost tourism, infrastructure, health, professional, and education facilities in the kingdom. Consequently, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah also revised its policies and major changes were made in regard to the question of Mahram for a woman in order to perform Umrah.

As per the new rules, Women can now travel alone for Umrah i.e. they no longer need to accompany a mahram. In addition, Umrah can also be performed on a tourist visa which is available by both on-arrival basis and e-services.
